About me
My name is Shaileen Patton. Burnt out as an attorney for a BigLaw firm in Manhattan, I became a 200 hour registered yoga teacher in 2017 after training at Be Yoga in Charlotte, NC. Yoga eventually led me to meditation, where I completed a certification in Mindfulness Meditation at Charlotte Meditation in May of 2018. My time spent in stillness and silence brought my breathing into sharp focus, and I noticed how I could manipulate my state of mind using my breath alone. This brought me to study the Buteyko Breathing Method in 2022 and the Oxygen Advantage method in 2024 with Patrick McKeown. I finally met my Teacher that same year, which changed my entire approach to yoga and yoga philosophy. In January 2023 I completed a 100 hour Meditation Facilitation Certification with my Teacher in Chennai, India. After that experience, my body began to talk to me in ways that I could no longer ignore, and my history of chronic stress and trauma finally caught up with me. I would say that I found TRE at this time, but really the tremoring process of TRE found me. I completed my dual certification in TRE and Neurogenic Yoga in 2025. My studies of the mind and body continue to this day.
